“Redefining Airport Primary Security Fence Line Inspections for the Modern Era.”
The Challenge
Every airport in Canada and the United States is required to inspect its perimeter fence lines three times a day. It’s mandatory, it’s critical, and it consumes a huge amount of time from highly skilled security personnel. IlluminexAI recognized that this routine was ripe for improvement and set out to build a system that could handle these inspections autonomously, electrically, and with consistent accuracy.
What We Did
IlluminexAI created the AI platform that drives the entire solution. The GTAA stepped forward to host the pilot. Honda supplied the autonomous electric vehicle. Cisco sponsored the initiative. Genwave deployed Cisco’s CURWB technology to provide the ultra-reliable wireless connections that keeps the system connected across the airfield. Together, the group delivered a fully integrated, real-time perimeter inspection capability, with an initial 90+% real time quality.
.What It Means
Automated inspections, cleaner data, and freed-up security personnel who can focus on higher-value tasks. The Airfield of Tomorrow shows how practical innovation can take a routine requirement and turn it into a safer, more efficient operation for one of Canada’s busiest airports.
